This 1st Edition
“Case Studies of NSPC Brain and Spine Surgery”
is a collection of
44 real-life clinical encounters
of emergent to non-urgent nature, spanning a wide spectrum of neurological diseases, that are frequently seen and treated by the specialists of our practice. The cases have been
selected from our growing list of case reports that have been posted online on a weekly basis since 2020. Originally intended to share our experience with health care professionals from the local New York Metro/Long Island community, the “NSPC Weekly” has now expanded to include not only clinical cases, but also CME courses, newsletters, infographics, and social media-friendly posts and video clips.
The 44 cases of this publication have been edited to a format that aims at delivering a reader-friendly visual experience with rich illustrations and concise writing. Nevertheless, in this ‘picture book style publication with annotations’, the reader will find all elements of a classic case report, starting
with ‘Clinical Presentation’ that leads into ‘Clinical Management and Treatment’, followed by a brief discussion in ‘Treatment Consideration’ and literature ‘References’. The cases are rounded off with a list of ‘Key Learning Points’.
What Are Readers Saying About NSPC's eBook?
The Case Studies of NSPC Brain & Spine Surgery by Choi, Mangla and Pile-Spellman is a joy to read and a valuable resource for neurointerventionalists. The 44 illustrated cases cover essential diagnostic and therapeutic neurointerventional principles using concise text and ample, clearly annotated images. The efforts by the authors to distill the essential learning points in each case provides the reader with a high-yield and highly relevant introduction to neurointerventional surgery.
I had a chance today to review the entire eBook and I am truly impressed with all 44 illustrated cases. Thanks to technology, I feel that readers today have shorter attention spans which present an even greater challenge to content creators. To be engaging, content creators now need to create more interesting and engaging content for readers in a more concise shorten format and your eBook did just that! The flow and setup reminded me of a book format version of an Angio club. I also liked how you categorized the various neurovascular disease states into 10 concise chapters. I also liked how each of the authors summarized the key learning points at the end of each case series. Please let me know if you would like me to get more granular with each individual case report but again, I think this eBook will be extremely well received by the public.
