About Dr. Imani

Yusef Imani, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, who specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spinal deformity, in the adult and pediatric population. He uses his diverse training to select the appropriate procedure that will be optimal for each patient. He uses the latest technology and techniques that will ensure a faster recovery, minimal postoperative pain, and allow patients to return to their normal life.

Dr. Imani completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. He continued his medical training at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Medicine. His neurosurgical training began at the University of South Florida where he developed his expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery.

He continued his specialization in pediatric scoliosis surgery in his research year of residency at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, where he trained alongside orthopedic surgeons on some of the most challenging scoliosis cases in the world. During his time at Shriner’s Hospital, Dr. Imani found his passion for volunteer work and has since gone on to lecture at hospitals in Wenzhou, China, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Annually, he joins a group of neurosurgeons who dedicate two weeks to the Black Lion Hospital in Addis Abba, Ethiopia.

After residency, he completed an adult complex spine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Given his diverse training, Dr. Imani implements the best treatment plan for each individual patient. He understands that some patients might not need surgery, and works closely with the patient to ensure that he/she received the optimal treatment to resolve his/her neurological issues.

Dr. Imani is passionate about ensuring his patients receive the treatment that will get them back to their normal life.
